What is the Six Kings Slam in tennis?

The Six Kings Slam is a tennis exhibition event that was first scheduled in October 2024. The tournament is not sanctioned by the All Tennis Professionals. Thus, the players entering the event will not earn any ranking points.

The results of the matches at the Six Kings Slam will not count towards the head-to-head record of the players. Players who feature in the Six Kings Slam event are active veterans with multiple Major titles, and ones who are in the highest tier of World Rankings.

All matches of the tournament will be played in the best-of-three sets format. Each match will be a singles match played in a single elimination knockout format. A player wins a set when they win six games based on the conventional scoring format. At a score of six games apiece, a tiebreak is held. The first player to seven points with a difference of two points wins the set.

The draw for the event will see two veterans get a bye in the first round. The winners will progress further to the semifinals and then the Grand Final. Losers of the semifinals face each other in a third place match. All matches of the event are held in Riyadh at a stadium with a capacity of 8000 seats called ‘The Venue.’ The event lasts for four days and is played on indoor hard courts.

The tournament offers a mind-boggling prize money. Each of the six participants receive $15,00,000 USD. The winner of the tournament receives $60,00,000 USD, an amount that is double then what a player receives for winning the US Open. Jannik Sinner won the inaugural edition with Carlos Alcaraz finishing as the runner-up. Novak Djokovic finished at the third position.
