The Bangladesh Cricket League is annual first class cricket competition of Bangladesh. Governed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the tournament was first held in 2012. The competition is played across four different venues of Bangladesh.
The tournament is played between four teams that represent different zones of Bangladesh. Each zone consists of the best performing players from the National Cricket League, another first class cricket competition which is played between eight teams representing seven divisions of Bangladesh. Each zonal team is owned by a franchise.
The zonal teams play each other in a single round-robin format. Teams get two points for a win, zero for a loss, and one point for a no result, shared result, or a tie. If they are able to get five, seven, or ten wickets of the opponent within 100 overs, then they get 0.5, 1 or 1.5 points respectively. Additionally, if a team wins two matches consecutively, then they get an additional bonus point. If two teams are tied at the same number of points, the net run rate decides the better team. The team who tops the league stage is declared the champion of the Bangladesh Cricket League.
Teams from Central Zone consist of players from Dhaka Metropolis and Dhaka Division. The Khulna Division and Barisal Division teams comprise the South Zone. Sylhet Division and Chittagong Division make the East Zone, whereas Rajshahi Division and Rangpur Division players comprise the North Zone. South Zone is the most successful side, having won six titles as of 2024.
