The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy is a women’s domestic One-Day International competition of England and Wales. It began in 2020 and was named in honor of the former captain of the England’s women’s cricket team.
The event sees eight teams, each of which represent multiple counties of England. These teams are Central Sparks, Northern Diamonds, North West Thunder, South East Stars, Southern Vipers, Sunrisers, The Blaze, and Western Storm.
The tournament is played in two phases. The first is the double round-robin phase, where each team plays the other twice. In this league stage, teams win four points for a win, zero for a loss, and two points for an abandoned or a match with no result.
Additionally, teams get a bonus point if their run-rate is 1.25 times more than the opposition. If two teams are tied at the same number of points, then the better team is decided based on net run-rate, runs scored in tied matches, and bowling strike rate.
The top four teams at the end of the round-robin stage contest the semifinals. The table toppers face the fourth placed side in the first semifinal and the second and third placed teams contest the second semifinal.
Southern Diamonds have thrice won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, whereas Northern Diamonds and Sunrisers have won one title each. Lauren Winfield-Hill top-scored in two of the five seasons. However, as of 2024, the highest run-scorer of the tournament is Georgia Adams, with 1859 runs to her name. Evelyn Jones and Hollie Armitage are the only players to have hit four centuries each. The leading wicket-taker is Katie Levick, who has taken 79 wickets in the tournament.
