The Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National Cricket Tournament is a T20 competition held in Nepal. It is governed by the Cricket Association of Nepal and has been contested since 2015.
The premier T20 competition of Nepal features eight teams, each representing a provincial region of Nepal. These teams face each other in a round-robin format by playing each other once. A match win is worth two points, whereas a tied or drawn match leads to each team getting one point. No points are deducted for a loss. If two teams are tied at the same number of points, then the number of match wins and net run-rate are considered to evaluate the better team.
At the end of the group stage, the top two teams progress to the first qualifier. The third and fourth placed teams contest the eliminator. The second qualifier is played between loser of the first qualifier and the winner of the eliminator. A final is held between the winners of the two qualifier matches.
As of 2024, Rubina Chhetry is the most successful batter with 628 runs to her name. Chhetry and Sita Rana Magar have been awarded the player of the series award thrice each. The leading wicket-taker is Karuna Bhandari with 31 wickets. The most successful side of the tournament is the APF Club who has won six titles. Janakpur, Koshi Province, and Sudurpashchim have won one title each.
Based on their performance in the Prime Minister’s Cup, players get a chance to make it to the national side.
