The Pickleball World Rankings Tour is a forthcoming professional pickleball circuit that will commence in late 2024. The Pickleball World Rankings Tour’s parent company is the Pickleball League Asia Private Limited.
The circuit will feature six tournaments worthy of Grand Slam status and are referred as the World Series events. These events will feature 64 players in the singles competitions and six teams of four players each in the team competition. The rest of the tournaments on the PWR World Tour are of different tiers. These are designated as PWR 100, PWR 200, PWR 400, PWR 700, PWR 1000, and PWR 2000. The bigger the number, the more prestigious the event. The number denotes the maximum ranking points that the champion will be awarded with.
To compete in the top tier competitions of the PWR World Tour, players need to gain PWR rankings by competing in the subsidiary tournaments of the PWR that are held in local regions. For example, the PWR CPA Pro Tour and the PWR China Collegiate Pickleball Tour.
The Pickleball World Rankings Tour has on offer a whopping USD $15 million on offer. It will begin on 4th December 2024 at Hengquin, China. Countries who shall feature the remainder of the events include Spain, Japan, Vietnam, and United Arab Emirates. The tournament in the gulf is held in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and offers the highest prize money of $1.5 million. Just like its other counterparts, the PWR World Tour also aims to unify the pickleball tour into a single global circuit. The first PWR Tour’s last competition will be held in November 2025.
