The Central Europe Cup is a T20 tournament that is contested between the national sides of teams from Central Europe. It is organized by the Czech Cricket Union since 2014 and is held between teams who are invited to participate in the event. Between 2014 to 2018, the tournament was held in the One Day International format.
The 2019 edition was the first edition to see all matches played in the T20 format. Due to the varied number of teams that participate in the tournament each year, there has not been a stable structure in which the tournament is held. When there are only two participating nations, then a bilateral series is played between the sides.
In scenarios when there are more than two sides, a league stage is held in the round-robin format. This is followed by the knockout rounds. During the round-robin stage, teams earn four points for a win, zero for a loss, and share the points when there is a tie or no result. If two teams are tied at the same number of points, then the one with the better net run-rate is chosen as the better side. The top two sides at the end of the league stage contest the final.
It was only in 2021, that the matches of the Central Europe Cup were officially granted the T20 International status. Since this recognition of the International Cricket Council, Czech Republic have won the title twice, whereas Austria have won it once as of 2024. Between 2014 to 2019, Poland was the most successful side with three titles, followed by Switzerland who won the title twice.
