The Baoji China Masters is a professional badminton tournament on the Badminton World Federation’s annual tour. It began in 2024 and is categorised as a Super 100 event. It organized by the Chinese Badminton Association in conjunction with the Badminton World Federation. It is held in middle or late August.
The tournament hosts five events in the Baoji City Gymnasium. These include the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. In each event, a single elimination bracket is followed. Players and pairs enter each category based on their rankings. In each event, the top eight players or pairs are seeded.
A match win in each category is based on the conventional scoring system. A best of three sets format is followed. A player wins a set when they win 21 points with a difference of two points. If the score is tied at 20-20, then play continues until one the player gets a clear lead of two points. Points are won based on the rally scoring system.
The champion of each event gets 5500 ranking points whereas the runners-up get 4680 points. Each of the semifinalists and quarterfinalists get 3850 and 3030 point srespectively. As of 2024, the prize money for the event is US $100,000. Out of these, the singles champions get $7500, whereas the doubles champions receive $7900 (split between the pair). The runners-up in either event are entitled to $3800.
In the inaugural event held in 2024, China clean swept the event. All the singles and doubles champions hailed from China.
