The Indonesia Masters is a badminton tournament that started in 2010. It falls under the Super 500 category of Badminton World Federation’s tier of professional tournaments. During the 2021 BWF Tour, the tournament was upgraded to a Super 750 event. However, it was reverted back to its Super 500 tier in the subsequent seasons. It was formerly known as the Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold. The tournament has been held in eight different venues till 2024.
The Indonesia Masters are held in the last week of the month of January. The tournament features events in all disciplines of the game including men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The knockout draws of each format have 32 players and 32 pairs.
The winner of the event gets 9200 ranking points. The runner-up and semi-finalist get 7800 and 6420 points respectively. The total prize pool of the tournament is $420,000 of which, the winner of the singles and doubles events get $31,500 and $33,180 respectively.
The most successful men’s singles winner are Anthony Ginting and Anders Antonsen who have won two titles each. Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo are the most successful players with four doubles titles. An Se-Young and Ratchanok Intanon have two women’s singles titles whereas Misaki Masutomo and Ayaka Takahasi have won two women’s doubles titles each. Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong have won five mixed doubles titles each.
Indonesia is the most successful nation having won 29 titles across all formats. China is the next best nation with 20 titles.
