The Bad Homburg Open is a relatively new tournament on the women’s professional tennis circuit. The tournament is played in Badminton Homburg, Germany and was first held in 2020. It was initially categorised as a part of the WTA 250 series of events. In 2024, the tournament upgraded as a WTA 500 event.
The Bad Hombueg Open is played as a build-up event to Wimbledon. The outdoor grass court event is played in both singles and doubles format. The singles main draw features 32 players, featuring eight players from the qualifying draw, and four spots reserved for wildcard entrants. The doubles draw features 16 doubles teams.
Players face each other in matches that are contested in the best of three sets format. The player who wins six games with a difference of two wins a set.
