The Vietnam Open first started in 1996 and is a part of the Badminton World Federation’s Super 100 series of events. It is held in Ho Chin Minh City and is organized by the Vietnam Badminton Association.

A prize pool of USD $100,000 is on offer at the Vietnam Open. The singles champions receive $7500, whereas the doubles side gets $7900.
