What is the US Masters T10 league?

The US Masters T10 league is a cricket tournament held in the United States with the goal of promoting the sport in the continent. It is the only ICC sanctioned 10-over tournament. The first edition of the tournament was held in 2023.

The tournament features six privately owned franchises. Each team represents a city – Atlanta Riders, California Knights, Morrisville Unity, New Jersey Tritons, New York Warriors, Texas Chargers. All matches of the inaugur edition were scheduled to take place at Central Broward Park in Lauderhill, Florida.

The tournament features a double round robin format followed by the play-offs. Two points are awarded to the team if they win the match. One point is given in case of no result. The top four teams make the play-offs. The top two teams play the first qualifier. The winner progresses to the finals. Teams positioned third and fourth play the eliminator. The winner of the eliminator faces the loser of the first qualifier in a knockout match. The winner of this match is the second finalist.

A bowler cannot bowl more than two overs in an innings. Powerplay restrictions apply for the first three overs. In case of a tie a Super Over decides the winner. If the Super Over is tied, then another Super Over is played till a winner is declared.

The US Masters T10 league is broadcast in every major cricketing nation. The tournament has also gained attention as it features retired international cricketers playing with young cricketers who are at the budding stage of their careers.
