What is the Indonesia Masters Super 100 in badminton?

The Indonesia Masters Super 100 is a professional badminton tournament on the Badminton World Federation’s tour. It began in 2018 and has been organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia. It is classified as a Super 100 event. The tournament has been held in Belitung Islands, East Java, North Sumatra, and Riau.

Since 2023, the event has been hosted twice in a calendar year. The tournament features a men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles events. Each event is played in a single elimination bracket where the draw size is of 32 players or pairs. The players enter the event through their ranking points.

A rally scoring format is used for winning points. When a team or player win 21 points with a difference of two, they win the set. When two of the three sets are won, the team or player wins the match. At a score of 20-20, play continues till one of the sides has a lead of two points.

The champions of each category get 5500 ranking points. The runners-up get 4680 ranking points. All players with a quarterfinals or a semifinal finish get 3030 and 3850 points respectively. As of 2024, the event has a prize money of $100,000. The singles champion gets $7500, whereas a prize of $7900 is split between the champions doubles team.

No player has won the singles events and the men’s doubles and the mixed doubles event twice. Indonesia’s Ribka Subiarto has won a record three women’s doubles titles; two of them partnering Lanny Tria Mayasari. Indonesia has produced the most champions across all categories. The next best side is Japan with seven champions, four less than Indonesia.
