The Queen’s Club Championships is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world. The tournament is played on grass in outdoor conditions since 1886. The tournament is a part of the ATP 500 series of the men’s professional tennis circuit.
Both singles and doubles events are played in the Queen’s Club Championships. A single elimination knockout draw format is followed for both the events. The draw size for singles is 16 for the qualifying draw and 32 for the main draw. Four players who win two consecutive matches qualify for the main draw and three spots are reserved for wild card entrants. Furthermore, the draw size for doubles is 16.
Each match is played in a best of three sets format. A set is won by a player when they win six games with a difference of two. However, if the set score is six games apiece, then a seven-point tiebreak decides the outcome of the set. In doubles, the third set is played as a tiebreak where the first team to win ten points with a difference of two wins the match.
The tournament offers 500 ranking points to its singles and doubles players whereas the runner-up get 330 and 300 points respectively. As of 2024, the tournament has a prize pool of €22,55,655. The singles champion gets €421,790, whereas the doubles champions gets €138,550.
Ansy Murray is the most successful player at the event, having won five singles titles at the event. The doubles pairing of Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge, and the pair of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan hold the joint-record for winning five titles each. The United States of America has been the most successful side, producing 34 singles champions and 33 doubles champions as of 2024.
